The PTO only works if we have volunteers.  We understand that everyone is moving a mile a minute these days and it’s hard to balance it all.  Any help – big or small – is greatly appreciated.  This school year, we are fortunate that all of our chair positions are filled. We know in the past people have been hesitant to volunteer for a chair position because it felt like you wouldn’t be able to give it up until your kids were no longer at the school.  We want to move away from that mentality.  Ideally, each position would be a 2 year gig.  One year learning the ropes and one year being the leader of the job while you teach the next person.  Of course, if you love your position, you can do it much longer, but we don’t want people to feel trapped. 

 

Below are positions we would like to get people learning for next year along with a couple open positions for this year.  Feel free to grab a friend and co-chair it!  No need to do this alone.  And remember, we will always be here to help!

Open Positions for 26-27 School Year

Yearbook Grade Photographer - 1 person for each grade 

• Visit school 1-2 times to take pictures of your grade; no need for a fancy camera!

• Build the candid picture page for your grade using PlicBooks; training provided

• Time commitment: ~2-4 hrs for the year

 

 

In-Training Positions – learn the necessary tasks this year but the current Chair/Coordinator will be leading the way this year.  

 

Co-President In-Training – Already have 1 person training this year

• Learn what being president all entails for future years

• Time commitment: Included on emails and meetings for the year; help out when your schedule allows

Social Media Chair – In-Training

• Create content and post to our social media channels, as needed

Website Coordinator – In-Training

• Create content and maintain our PTO website – could be a combined position with Social Media Chair

Book Fair Coordinator – In-Training

• Organize 2  book fairs per year with Scholastic

• Coordinate set-up and volunteers for the fairs

Hot Dog Hustle Volunteer Coordinator – In-Training

• Coordinate volunteers for our biggest event of the year

• Collaborate with HDH Coordinators and Administrative Assistant on logics and needs for the event

• Time commitment: ~5 hrs in the spring + full day during the event

Hot Dog Hustle Sponsorship Chair – In-Training

• Coordinate outreach to sponsors, including past sponsors and new contacts

• Collaborate with HDH Coordinators

• Get logos from sponsors for promotional materials

• Organize “thank-you” for sponsors

• Time commitment: ~8 hrs total Feb-April

Science Fair Coordinator – In-Training 2027 – Coordinator for 2029

• Coordinate with staff members to manage science fair entries

• Set-up for the event 

• Event is in the evening

International Day Coordinator – Coordinator for 2028

• Coordinate country ambassadors and guide volunteers

• Set-up for the event 

• Event is during the school day
