Hello Elm Lawn Families!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are ready for the festive season ahead. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the November PTO meeting and supported our Chuck E. Cheese fundraiser—it was a great success!

Technology Spotlight

At our November PTO meeting, Brian Miles, Director of Technology Services, shared exciting updates about how technology supports learning in our district. Here are a few notes and a link to his presentation:

  • Devices for All: Every student has access to a device, and the district manages over 10,500 devices. Here is a link to Clever, a single sign-on for students to access all of their curriculum resources: How to Log In to Clever for Families

  • Safety First: Web filtering through Securly ensures compliance with the Child Internet Protection Act. Teachers can monitor screens using Aristotle Borderless Classroom.

  • Digital Citizenship: Students learn responsible tech use through Common Sense Media resources.

  • AI in Education: Staff and high school students are exploring tools like Gemini, Brisk, and Canva. A new AI policy is in development for 2026.

  • Parent Resources: Bookmark ICAC Wisconsin and check out Common Sense Media for tech tips and guides.

  • Elm Lawn earned the highest rating on the Wisconsin state report card—way to go!

  • Teachers are deepening work in structured literacy and integrating math and science into reading instruction.

  • Collaboration between general education and special education continues to grow.

Upcoming Events

  • Square 1 Art Orders: Due early December (12/2)—don’t miss out!

  • International Day: February 25—volunteers needed for booth ambassadors and tour guides.

Volunteer Opportunities

We’re looking for parents to shadow current board members for the following roles next year:

Your Feedback Matters

Thank you for completing our recent survey! We learned that parents prefer direct email and newsletters and love events like Fall Fest, HDH, and book fairs. We’ll keep working to make communication clear and events fun!
