April News!

Happy spring to all of our Elm Lawn families! We hope the weather will soon follow all of the bright and sunny events occurring in the school and district. Dr. Monogue attended our PTO meeting on 4/20 to share information about how funds from the fall referendum will positively impact our district. The district has 3 main priorities for spending the $24 million that will be generated from the referendum over the next 4 years and these include: maintaining instructional/curricular programming and staffing; attracting and retaining talented staff across district positions; and operations and building maintenance. The stadium project also continues to progress and phases 1 & 2 will be complete by July. Finally, Dr. Monogue reported that our students continue to thrive in the district, with several recent student awards and championships and data from recent reading and math assessments placing our students/district as #1 in Dane County! Elm Lawn students and staff have also celebrated much success in the past few months, including a very successful Talent Show in early April. Over 100 students participated in this event! Of course, there is more fun to come before we head into summer here in Middleton. Here are some events you won't want to miss:

Teacher Appreciation Week: 5/8-12/23

The general schedule includes the following: Sunday (chalk the walk), Monday (appreciation

lunch), Tuesday (Girl Scout cookies!), Wednesday (Hot Dog Hustle), Thursday (gift cards), and Friday (bakery treats). Information about this event will go home in a flyer.

Hot Dog Hustle: 5/10/23

Folks, this is our biggest fundraiser of the year and would love a great turn-out and support for this event. We use these funds for all of our annual PTO events, field trips, and extra classroom support and supplies. Please get the word out to friends and family so they can make even a small contribution to our wonderful Elm Lawn Eagles. We still need volunteers. Here is a link to sign-up:

Final PTO Meeting of the Year: 5/18/23

This will be another in-person meeting with snacks and refreshments. We would love to see a full room. We will review PTO committees and open positions for next year. Please consider getting more involved in our organization! There are many ways to get involved.

EduKit is Coming to Elm Lawn!

Elm Lawn Elementary is pleased to be partnering with EduKit to offer our families a fast and easy option to order your student's school supplies! These kits have been custom built to include items selected by our teachers! ✂️📚✏️ More information to come soon!
