April PTO Newsletter

Spring has finally arrived to Middleton and we have just 5 weeks left of school for our Elm Lawn Eagles! The PTO hosted the meeting this month on Thursday, April 11th at 6:30pm in the LMC at the lawn. Elm Lawn's Instructional Coach, Caitlin Carey, provided a wonderful presentation for parents related to some exciting changes with the district reading curriculum in response to the Wisconsin legislative Act 20. Principal Rust also provided some updates and noted 3rd and 4th grade students took the Forward Assessment this month, the school hosted the second assembly of the year in March, and Principal Rust is a representative on the Literacy Curriculum Renewal Committee. Next month Dr. Monogue will join the PTO to provide an update on some district initiatives - be sure to join us!

We have several exciting events yet this year to celebrate our Elm Lawn students and families:

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10

  • Last PTO meeting of the year is on May 9 with Dr. Monogue

  • Hot Dog Hustle (our biggest fundraiser of the year) is May 15th

  • Spring Book Fair is May 14-16 - this is our BOGO themed event

Also, we could really use some volunteers to help out with a few of these event! We still need lunch servers, check-in table support, and water table attendants for the HDH. Please come support your eagles in any way you can:
